Personal finance decisions affect people’s lives, so we hold our content to clear standards.

1. Accuracy first

Every calculator uses standard, published formulas (listed on each page). Core functions are covered by automated tests that compare our results with known reference values, such as the standard amortization payment for a $200,000, 6%, 30-year loan ($1,199.10).

2. Primary sources

Tax brackets, standard deductions, payroll tax rates and retirement contribution limits come from official sources such as the IRS, Social Security Administration, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), Federal Reserve and Bureau of Labor Statistics. Each page lists its sources. We do not invent statistics.

3. Plain language and clear limits

We explain what each result means, which assumptions it relies on, and what it does not cover. Estimates are labeled as estimates.

4. Independence

Advertising, if shown, is clearly separated from content and never affects calculations. We do not accept paid placements in our content.

5. Reviews and updates

We review pages when laws, limits or rates change and at least once a year. Each page shows a “last updated” date.

6. Corrections

If you spot an error, email hello@getsteadymath.com with the page and inputs. We investigate every report and correct confirmed errors promptly, updating the page date.

7. Use of AI and software tools

We use software tools, including AI assistance, to help draft text and code. Published content is checked against primary sources and tested formulas, and is attributed to the SteadyMath Editorial Team.

8. Not advice

Our content is educational and not individualized financial, tax, legal or investment advice. See our terms of use.
